WINDER, Ga. — Winder-Barrow scored with 22 seconds to play to outlast Flowery Branch Friday night, 20-17.
The Bulldoggs and Falcons were in a scoreless draw until a pick six with 42 seconds left put Winder-Barrow up, 7-0, at halftime. The Falcons tied it up as Brody Jordan found Seth Larson with 6:50 left in the third quarter to tie it up at 7-7.
After a 36-yard field goal put the Falcons up 10-7, the Bulldoggs scored on a 50-yard pitch and catch on the opening play of the fourth quarter to retake the lead at 14-10.
The Falcons answered five minutes later on another connection from Jordan to Larson to push the FB lead to 17-14, but a Winder-Barrow score with 22 seconds left on a 4-yard run gave the Bulldoggs the win.
Flowery Branch will look to snap a five-game losing skid next week as they host Jefferson.
