A 19-year-old White County man will face charges for his role in a fatal car accident in Demorest on Monday.
Cleveland resident Rylee Higgins is alleged to be the at-fault driver in the collision that resulted in the death of Demorest resident Sandra Mulkey, 77.
Corporal L. Ray with the Georgia State Patrol says Higgins was driving southbound on Georgia 105 shortly after 5 p.m. when he crossed the center line near Old Cannon Bridge Road.
Higgins pickup truck then struck the northbound sedan being driven by Mulkey, hitting the victim's vehicle head-on.
Mulkey was pronounced dead at the scene, while Higgins was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. His condition was unknown.
Although specific details were withheld, charges are now pending in the case.
