By AccessWDUN staff

A 49-year-old Sugar Hill man fleeing today from Forsyth County deputies at high speed crashed his car and later died at a hospital.

A deputy saw a car that was failing to maintain its lane at about 2 a.m. this morning and attempted to stop the driver, later identified as Randall Mize. Mize fled the attempted stop at a high rate of speed, but then crashed near Rockport Drive.

He was taken to North Fulton Hospital, where he died.

The crash is under investigation by both the sheriff's office and the Georgia State Patrol. Driver intoxication is suspected as a contributing factor, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
