LAWRENCEVILLE — Buford rebounded well after last week's loss to Chaminade-Madonna with a blowout 41-0 win over Central Gwinnett on Friday night.
The Wolves (4-1, 1-0 Region 8-6A) opened the game with some flash, which set the tone of the game, with a 46-yard bomb from Ashton Daniels to Isaiah Bond going up quickly, 7-0.
The Buford defense was impenetrable, holding Central Gwinnett to just 67 total yards of offense.
Meanwhile, the Wolves racked up 391 total yards behind a fierce rushing attack and an on-target passing game to easily roll to their first Region 8-6A win.
CJ Clinkscales, Eli Parks and Victor Venn were key in the ground game with all three scoring touchdowns.
Clinkscales score two, Parks and Venn finished with one, but Venn led the team in yards with 97.
After taking a 14-0 lead after the opening period, Parks opened the second quarter with a four-yard run. Venn followed with a 22-yard dash, and Clinkscales finished the 20-point second quarter with a six-yard run.
Ashton Daniels, who was perfect on the night with a 7-for-7 passing performance for 162 yards and two touchdowns, scored the Wolves' final touchdown when he hit Nate Norys on a 26-yard pass in the third quarter.
