Gwinnett County employee killed on the job during a hit-and-run accident

An Auburn man has been killed in a hit-and-run accident while he was on the job. 

Constantin George Bolof, age 60, was working at an active construction site in Loganville in Gwinnett County when he was struck and killed. 

Bolof was an employee of the Gwinnett County Water Resources Department and was directing vehicles around construction at Oak Grove Rd and Henderson Lake Dr. 

The driver of the vehicle was found and arrested. Thomas Allen Burke is being charged with Homicide by Vehicle in the 1st Degree, Hit and Run, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Reckless Driving. 

Other details, including what time the accident occurred, or how the suspect was apprehended, were not released. The investigation is still underway. 

In a press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department, they extended their condolences to Bolof’s family, friends, and co-workers at Water Resources.
