Football: Bluff routs Lakeside-Atlanta to stay unbeaten

ATLANTA — Cherokee Bluff held Lakeside-Atlanta to just 74 total yards and just three first downs in taking a 56-0 win Friday night at North DeKalb Stadium.

Meanwhile, the offense piled up 451 yards -- 225 yards rushing and 226 yards passing -- and continued as the top scoring team in the Georgia High School Association. The Bears (4-0) are averaging 58 points/game so far in 2021.

Jayquan Smith had another big with 104 yards and two touchdowns in one half of work. Sebastian Irons was 9-of-13 passing for 140 yards and 1 TD while Jhace Justice had 3 catches for 123 yards and 2 TDs of 19 and 53 yards. Brayden Nance had 47 yards on just 4 carries with a pair of touchdowns as well.

The Bears jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 35-0 by halftime.

Cherokee Bluff will open defense of its Region 7-3A title next week traveling to Ellijay to take on Gilmer.
