Chandler Smith made the most of a weekend off from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
The Talking Rock, Georgia racer scored the Super Late Model win on Saturday night at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, North Carolina in an event co-sanctioned by the CARS Racing Tour and the Southern Super Series.
Meanwhile, Mini Tyrrell became a first time winner in CARS Racing Tour Late Model Stock Car action.
In the Super Late Model feature Smith held off Stephen Nasse to score the win at the 4/10-mile asphalt raceway.
After a restart with nine laps to go Smith was able to clear Nasse and maintained the lead en route to the victory.
Nasse settled for the runner-up spot after leading in the early portion of the event, while championship points leader Matt Craig rounded out the podium with a third place finish.
Monroe, Georgia’s Jake Garcia came home in fourth, with Hunter Robbins in fifth.
Carson Kvapil, Jackson Boone, Kyle Plott, Jake Finch, and Jett Noland rounded out the top 10.
In the Late Model Stock Car feature, Mini Tyrrell scored his first series win in dominating fashion.
Tyrrell crossed the finish line 3.638 seconds ahead of second place finisher Sam Yarbrough, with Bobby McCarty in third, Kaden Honeycutt in fourth and Jared Fryar in fifth.
Jonathan Shafer, Justin Johnson, Mike Looney, Stephen Nasse, and Carter Langley rounded out the top 10.
