LAWRENCEVILLE — Tre Reece and Malaki Starks each ran for two touchdowns to lead Class 4A No. 1-ranked Jefferson to a 41-14 win over Class 7A Mountain View on Friday.

The Dragons (4-0) pounded out a season-high 421 yards on the ground. Reece finished with 148 yards on just 7 carries, including touchdown runs of 48 and 40 yards. Sammy Brown had 107 yards on 8 carries for Jefferson.

Jefferson wasted little time on jumping on the Bears (2-2) needing just three plays and 55 seconds to take a 7-0 lead on a 12-yard scoring run from Starks. Later in the first quarter, Starks added a 1-yard touchdown run and Kaden Bailey made it 21-0 with a 25-yard spring with just 15 seconds left in the period.

Reece scored his first touchdown on a 48-yard run to give the Dragons a 28-0 halftime lead. He opened the second half scoring with a 40-yard TD and Max Aldridge connected with Spencer Neese on a 35-yard touchdown pass to push the lead to 41-0 in the third quarter.

Mountain View got a pair of touchdown passes from Trey Moss to Justin Wilson in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout.

Jefferson is off next week before playing host to Flowery Branch in both teams’ Region 8-4A openers.
