An 11-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was struck by an SUV in Oakwood Friday morning.
The Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene of the accident on McEver Road south of Oakwood Road at 7:55 a.m.
Investigators said the driver of the vehicle was traveling northbound on McEver Road when she struck the girl, who was running across the road to a driveway.
The child, identified as Yaritza Aleman of Oakwood was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta with serious injuries.
The Hall County School District confirmed the girl is a student at West Hall Middle School.
No charges are anticipated.
