RINGGOLD, Ga. - Donald McIntosh took the lead on the second lap of Friday night’s Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series feature at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, and led the rest of the way en route to the win.
It marked the third career series win for the 28-year-old Dawsonville, Georgia native, and was worth a $4,000 payday.
Jason Croft led the opening lap of the event prior to McIntosh taking the lead in turn two on lap two. By lap three, McIntosh held the lead over Croft.
McIntosh would begin to work slower traffic on lap nine and would be mired in heavy traffic when the first caution of the event waved on lap 12 when Craig Greer slowed on the backstretch. The restart would see McIntosh maintain the race lead.
The final caution of the event waved on lap 19 when Ray Cook’s car slowed on the frontstretch after putting down some fluid. Coo was done for the night.
The restart would again see McIntosh maintain the top spot, and from there he drove on to the victory.
Sam Seawright finished in second, with Cruz Skinner in third, Jensen Ford in fourth, and Jason Croft in fifth.
Heath Hindman, Jesse Lowe, David Payne, Dusty Carver, and Ahnna Parkhurst rounded out the top 10.
