The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce has hired Mark VanTassel of Gainesville as Vice President of Finance and Administration.
GHCC officials said in a statement released earlier this week VanTassel brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in accounting and business management, strengthened by a love of the Gainesville-Hall County community.
VanTassel most recently spent 24 years with Community Newspapers Inc. (CNI) – parent company to a collection of local newspapers across the Southeast. VanTassel started with CNI as an accountant and worked his way up to regional business manager, a title he held for 15 years. Headquartered at The Northeast Georgian in Cornelia, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of eight newspapers across the region, a printing press facility and numerous magazine publications.
VanTassel was raised in Florida and has an accounting degree from the University of Central Florida.
