Carson Kvapil scored his third CARS Racing Tour Super Late Model Series victory of the season on Saturday night as the tour returned to Motor Mile Speedway in Fairlawn, Virginia for the first time since 2019.
Meanwhile, Bobby McCarty drove to victory lane in the Late Model Stock Car feature, picking up his second straight Motor Mile series win.
In the Super Late Model feature, Matt Craig looked to possibly make it two in a row, but pitting for adjustments on a lap 40 competition caution gave his championship points rival Kvapil the lead and he never looked back.
Kvapil dominated the final 60 laps of the event and scored some much needed championship points on Craig to tighten the battle between the two.
Monroe, Georgia’s Jake Garcia continued his hot streak of wins and strong finishes with the runner-up position over Craig, who was able to recover and finish third to grab a podium finish.
Giovanni Bromante finished in fourth, with Jeff Batten in fifth.
In the Late Model Stock Car feature, Bobby McCarty had to work hard for it but was able to extend his championship point lead slightly, scoring his second win of the season.
Starting from the outside of the front row, McCarty took the lead through the early portion of the race, but saw his advantage evaporate due to a caution near the halfway point of the race.
McCarty then fended off a challenge from Justin Johnson and pulled away from the field in the final stages to score the win.
Johnson, Mike Looney, Kaden Honeycutt, and Jonathan Shafer rounded out the top five.
