LAWRENCEVILLE — Johnson evened its season record after sweeping a pair of matches on Thursday in a tri-match at Central Gwinnett.
The Lady Knights (4-4) opened with a close 25-19, 25-23 win over Georgia Force. They followed that with another close two-game swep of host Central Gwinnett 25-22, 26-24.
Kali Lyons finished with 6 aces, 9 kills, and 14 assists to lead Johnson. Litzy Soto added 12 assists, an ace, and a kill while Noelia Landaverde had 3 aces and a kill for the Lady Knights.
Rainne Deyton ended the night with 4 kills for the Lady Knights.
Johnson next will travel to Rabun County on Tuesday.
CHESTATEE STAYS UNBEATEN
The Lady War Eagles improved to 10-0 on the season with sweeps over Lakeview Academy and Jackson County.
Chestatee took a tough 25-16, 25-19 win over Lakeview and then held off Jackson County in three-sets 25-17, 21-25, 15-13 in the nightcap.
Valiree Schmus had another big night with 20 kills and 9 digs in the two matches. Arianna Hernandez had 35 digs and Abby Allgood 14 digs for Chestatee. Kadence Wolfe and Hannah Farrar each had had 3 kills and Anna Grace Edmonds 8 kills for the Lady War Eagles.
