A race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is usually a spirited event, either on the big oval or on the infield road course.
Leave it to NASCAR to turn that into a full blown destruction derby, complete with cars jumping over ramps on the track.
Our Hard Left Turn crew breaks down the crash-fest that was Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race, including:
-A.J. Allmendinger uses skill and saavy to avoid the destruction and score the win on Sunday on the IMS infield road course.
-A loose piece of curbing turned into a ramp, setting off a grinding 10 car crash with four laps to go.
-On the restart, it happened AGAIN.
-While it looked like we still could get a strong finish for two in-need drivers, a cut through the grass and a tangle with a lap and a half to go left Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe unhappy after the race - and they're STILL arguing about it on social media.
-Fans, drivers and teams are still fuming over what happened at the end of Sunday's race. So are some of our HLT crew.
Plus, we'll look at this weekend's trip to the Irish Hills for racing at Michigan International Speedway.
