Gainesville School Board approves new contract for Superintendent

The Gainesville City School Board announced Monday night they chose to offer Superintendent Jeremy Williams an updated contract.

“We were unanimous in that we are going to cancel the current contract, we agreed on the terms of a three year contract, which will have a start date of July 1, 2021, and an end date of June 30, 2024,” said Board Chairman Andy Stewart at the work session.

The board previously discussed the contract and voted unanimously at an executive session.

“Board members, thank you for your faith in me, what we're doing in the district, and that will get me through seven years here in the district, which it's hard to believe it's been four already,” Williams said at the work session in response. “Thank y'all.”
