Mother Nature has not been kind so far to the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series in 2021, as Friday night’s race at Needmore Speedway Norman Park, Georgia was canceled due to heavy thunderstorms.
The event will not be rescheduled, as it joins Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia, which saw its race washed out on July 17 without a return trip.
Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee was also rained out on July 19, but that event has been rescheduled for August 1 as the season finale.
With half of the Southern Nationals Series races rained out so far, the tour looks forward to much better and drier weather on Saturday, July 24 at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia.
A $10,053 top prize will be on the line for drivers in an event that has been a mainstay on the series schedule since 2006.
