Match Preview: Atlanta United vs. Nashville SC

NASHVILLE — Atlanta United returns to action Thursday when it travels to face Nashville SC at Nissan Stadium.

The match is set to kick-off at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be regionally broadcast on Bally Sports Southeast.

Atlanta owns an all-time record of 2-1-1 against Nashville SC, 1-0-1 at home, 1-1-0 on the road in the series. This will be the second of three meetings between the teams this regular season after they played to a 2-2 draw on May 29 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta will host the final meeting on Aug. 28 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Atlanta ranks third in MLS in team passing accuracy at 84.75 percent.

Atlanta has won a league-leading 187 fouls in 2021, followed by Seattle at 161. Marcelino Moreno has drawn a team-high 35 fouls for the Five Stripes.

United will be without George Bello, Miles Robinson and Brad Guzan, who were named to the United States Men’s National Team roster for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, as well as Ezequiel Barco who will represent Argentina at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Nashville is unbeaten through eight home matches with a 4-0-4 record at Nissan Stadium this season, where the club has taken 16 of its 18 points. Nashville has also kept five clean sheets in 2021, tied for the second most in MLS.
