It took waiting through an hour long rain delay, but it was well worth it for Tyler Millwood at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday night.
After starting on the pole, Millwood led the Super Late Model feature flag-to-flag en route to his second victory of the year at the famed 3/8-mile clay raceway.
The Kingston, Georgia racer crossed under the finish line ahead of Pearson Williams, who – in his first ever visit to Dixie Speedway – bypassed Jason Croft for second. Shawn Chastain came home in fourth, with Dalton Cook in fifth.
In other action, Colbert, Georgia’s Kenny Collins recorded his first career Dixie Speedway victory in the Steelhead Late Model feature. Dale Thurman followed in second, with Blake Craft in third, Landon Bagby in fourth, and Drew Benefield in fifth.
The last time Shane Smith had visited victory lane, it was in July of 2015. That all changed on Saturday, when he scored the win in the Crate Late Model feature. Jake Pilgrim and Tim Clark staged a side-by-side duel for second, with Pilgrim getting the spot at the finish. David Eubanks followed in fourth, with Dylan Armstrong in fifth.
Cass Fowler beat out a strong field of 602 Sportsman cars as he took the feature win ahead of Sawyer Tinker, with Daniel Brewer, Tate Nichelson, and Zach Pilcher rounding out the top five.
Don Jenkins ended a three year winless streak taking the victory in the Open Wheel Modified race over Corey Reece in second, Koulten Herbert in third, Bo Jordan in fourth, and Colten Collins in fifth.
Travis Smith broke Jeremy Williams dominance in the Economy Bomber division as he took the feature win. Five time winner Williams had to settle for second, with Petey Cochran third, Jeff Peardon fourth and Tony Newman fifth.
Shawn Harper took his third win of the season in the Street Stingers feature. Jason Young followed in second, trailed by Rick Ricks in third, Eli Levine in fourth, and Matt Yost in fifth.
