No charges in multi-vehicle Lumpkin County wreck

No charges are expected after a multi-vehicle accident shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday in Lumpkin County.

An Audi A3, driven by Christopher Gonzalez, 37, of Gainesville, attempted to pass on the left a teal SUV on Morrison Moore Parkway eastbound, near Happy Hollow Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Troopers said the teal SUV then began changing from the right lane to the left lane, causing Gonzalez to swerve to the left to avoid a collision.

As Gonzalez attempted to avoid that accident, he side swiped a 2015 Chevy 2500HD, driven by Austin Pierce, 23, of Dahlonega, and Gonzalez's car continued westbound, striking the front of a 2008 Honda Accord, driven by Misty Vincent, 40, of Gainesville. Pierce's truck rotated after the impact and came to a rest in the westbound lane, facing east.

The driver of the teal SUV left the scene. Troopers said they are unsure of the make or model of the vehicle.

Gonzalez and Vincent suffered minor injuries in the accident. Pierce was not injured.
