Ralston shot a 3-under 69 to finish the first two rounds at 7-under 137, which puts him tied for 11th. Kyle Westmoreland shot a second-round 65 to grab the lead at the halfway point with an 11-under 133.
Meanwhile, four players -- Samuel Saunders, Isaiah Salinda, Austin Morrison, and Trevor Werbylo -- all are tied for second at 10-under (134). They lead former Georgia Tech standout Luke Schniederjans and Charles Huntzinger (9-under, 135) by a stroke.
First round leaders Travis Trace and Morgan DeNeen did not fare as well the second day. DeNeen shot an even-par 72 to also be tied for 11th with Ralston and three others. Trace slipped to 5-under after two rounds after shooting a 2-over 74.
Ralston was tied for the lead at 10-under after a birdie at the Par 4 15th. But a double-bogey 7 on the Par 5 16th and a bogey on No. 18 dropped him back to four shots back.
The third round will begin at 7:30 a.m. with 74 players making the cut looking for a piece of the $115,000 prize money. Ralston wlll tee-off at 8:50 a.m. on Friday.
