East Hall home destroyed by weekend fire

By AccessWDUN staff
Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a fire that destroyed a large home in East Hall County over the weekend.

Hall County Fire Services Division Chief Zachary Brackett said fire units were called to the scene on Hawkins Road off Joe Chandler Road around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19.

"Arriving units found a 4,000-square-foot home fully involved with fire. A defensive attack was utilized to extinguish the fire," Brackett said in an email statement.

Brackett said a dog was inside the house at the time, but firefighters were unable to find the animal.

The people who lived in the house were not injured.

The Hall County Fire Marshal's Office is leading the investigation.
