The Hall County Library System's downloadable e-book service will become part of a larger service on July 1.
The Overdrive/LIBBY program will join the Georgia Downloadable Destination consortium, or GADD. It will allow Hall County Library cardholders access to the current e-book collection, but also over 20,000 titles owned by GADD member libraries.
Titles include e-books, audiobooks, and magazines.
The Hall County Library System is part of the statewide PINES library system, and the new service is similar. Current users of Overdrive/LIBBY will not need a new account or need to download a new app to their device.
The transition will take place July 1, and library officials warn there may be a little downtime for new checkouts as the transition takes place.
