Vernon Jones, a declared candidate for Governor of the State of Georgia, will be the guest of the Republican Women of Hall County (RWH) at the group's June meeting.
Jones served in the Georgia House of Representatives as a member of the Democratic Party, but he changed his party affiliation to the GOP in January. To date, Jones is the only Republican to challenge incumbent GOP Governor Brian Kemp.
RWH President Betty Freeman Fisher said Jones will answer questions at the event.
"Come hear Vernon's story - it is amazing," Fisher said in the meeting invitation. "This is your opportunity to be one of the first to see and hear Vernon."
The RWH meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Cork It at 118 Main Street in downtown Gainesville.
