Miller confirms he plans to run for lieutenant governor

By B.J. Williams

State Senator Butch Miller of Gainesville has his sights set on Georgia's lieutenant governor's office.

Miller confirmed he has filed the necessary paperwork to run for the office in 2022. He offered no other comment, saying he will make a formal announcement in the near future.

Miller's announcement comes just three days after Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan confirmed he will not run for another term.

The Republican was first elected as the senator for Hall County's District 49 in 2010. He has served as Senate President Pro-Tempore since 2018.
