Alto woman arrested, $81k worth of meth seized

An Alto woman has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, among other charges, after a traffic stop and two search warrants.

Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office said they seized about $81,000 of meth during the traffic stop and the search warrants of the home of Stacey Lynn Collins, 43, and an outbuilding.

During the traffic stop, five one-gallon bags of methamphetamine were discovered in the vehicle.

The first warrant was executed at Collins' home on Martin Drive in Alto, which lead to seizure of an additional eight ounces of meth, a variety of prescription pills and a firearm.

The second search warrant was executed at an outbuilding on Free Drive in Cornelia, and agents seized approximately 564 marijuana cigarettes there.

Collins has been charged with trafficking meth, as well as once count each of possession with intent to distribute of Schedule II drugs, Schedule IV drugs and marijuana.

The agency said Collins' arrest was the result of a five month investigation by law enforcement in Habersham County, Banks County, and ARDEO.
