Anthony Sanders took advantage of the misfortune of leader Chris Ferguson on the final lap of Saturday night’s Big Chief Forty at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina.
Ferguson cut a tire on the final lap of the event, allowing Sanders to make the pass for the lead. He would go on to record his first Ultimate Super Late Model Series victory at the high banked 3/8-mile dirt track.
The win was worth a $5,000 payday for the Spartanburg, South Carolina native.
Ben Watkins finished in second, with Ross Bailes in third, Dillon Brown in fourth, and Dennis Franklin in fifth.
Trent Ivey, Dustin Mitchell, Zack Mitchell, Jeff Smith, and Brent Dixon rounded out the top 10.
Up next for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series will be at Virginia’s Natural Bridge Speedway on Friday May 14, followed by a trip to Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia on Saturday, May 15.
