A Gainesville man is in jail without bond after his arrest in connection to a child sexual abuse materials case.
Truman Alexander Hare, 26, is facing 18 counts of electronic exploitation of a minor, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office. Hare was arrested Wednesday following an investigation that began on April 27.
Hare allegedly downloaded 17 images and one video of child sexual abuse material on February 5, then emailed them to himself, Sheriff's Spokesman Derreck Booth said.
"There's no indication that the video or the photographs were produced locally or involved any local victims," Booth said.
Hare was arrested without incident during a search warrant of his residence in the 3000 block of Campus Pointe Circle. Agents were acting on a cybertip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children.
Agents are continuing the investigation with forensic processing of electronic devices seized during the execution of the search warrant.
