Payton Freeman scored his first career Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series victory on Saturday night at Clayhill Speedway in Atwood, Tennessee.
The Commerce, Georgia racer started the night on the pole, and then led 40-laps en route to the win in the King of the Hill 40 on the 3/8-mile clay oval.
The win was worth a $4,000 payday for Freeman.
Dillon Tidmore finished a few car lengths behind Freeman to take home second. Ashton Winger followed in third, with Matthew Brocato in fourth, and Dean Carpenter in fifth.
Kyle Beard, Billy Franklin, Ronnie Cooper, Randy Todd, and Matt Cooper rounded out the top 10.
The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series is next scheduled to compete on Friday night, May 7 at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia. Visit SASDirt.com for more information.
