The Georgia High School Association second round series for both the Flowery Branch and Jefferson baseball teams set to begin on Monday have been postponed.
The announcements came Monday as heavy rains moved through Georgia.
The Jefferson series against Marist has been pushed back to a Tuesday start with first pitch for a doubleheader set for 4:30 p.m. There has been official word yet as to when the Falcons series against Cedartown in Cedartown will begin, but most likely it also will move to Tuesday.
But the GHSA has told coaches that the quarterfinal round, which is set to begin on Saturday for Class 4A (Jefferson and Flowery Branch) will not be moved, no matter what. The other classifications will begin on either Monday or Tuesday.
North Hall and Cherokee Bluff in Class 3A and Commerce in Class A Public are set to start on Tuesday. Buford in Class 6A is not scheduled to begin its series against Pope until Wednesday.
