Boys soccer playoffs: East Hall leads 8-4A sweep into 2nd round; Hab Cental stuns Rome on the road

RABBITTOWN — Pedro Arroyo recorded a hat trick and added an assist to lead Region 8-4A champ East Hall to a dominating 10-0 win over Hampton on Friday in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs.

East Hall (12-4-1) next will play host to Druid Hills, who knocked off Pickens 2-0, in the second round on Thursday.

Pedro Delgado had a brace and Jonathan Torres scored once to go with three assists for the Vikings. Angel Perez had a goal and two assists,, Averen Samuels had one goal and one assist, while Edder Montesinos and Daniel Rodriguez each scored once and Brian Torres contributed with one assist for East Hall.

Region 8-4A sweep into the second round with Chestatee and Flowery Branch taking road wins and Jefferson winning at home. Region 8-4A outscored Region 5-4A 31-1 in the the four matches.

In other action on Friday, Habersham Central pulled a big upset in Class 6A knocking off No. 7 Rome, 3-2, on the road. Riverside Military Academy and Union County both advanced out of Region 8-2A.
