UNG men's golf earns 1st-ever Div. II tourney bid

INDIANAPOLIS — For the first time in program history, the North Georgia men's golf team has been selected to the 2021 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional, the NCAA announced Friday afternoon.

The top four teams from each super regional and the top individual not with a team from each super regional will advance to the finals May 17-21 at PGA National Resort; The Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The finals will be hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University and Palm Beach County Sports Commission.

UNG is joined by fellow PBC schools USC Aiken, Young Harris, Georgia Southwestern, Columbus State and Georgia College in the field. Also in from the Southeast are Lincoln Memorial and Mount Olive. The eight teams out of the southeast will battle against the teams out of the South Region that include West Florida, Lynn, Lee, Barry, Nova Southeastern, Saint Leo, Valdosta State and Florida Southern.

The 16 teams, along with six individuals that are not on qualifying teams, will head to play at Streamsong Resort May 6-8.
