Police find human skull in Gwinnett County

A Gwinnett County Police officer found a human skull off of a trail in Buford on April 11, according to an incident report from the department.

Deputies responded to a call about a trash dumping behind a building on Hamilton Mill Road. As they entered the woods and walked on a makeshift trail, one of the deputies noticed something off in the distance that looked like a human skull. Upon closer inspection, they contacted the necessary people to confirm their initial suspicion.

According to Cpl. Collin Flynn with the department, they believe the skull is from a woman in her teens up to her 30's. WSB-TV reports deputies found it last weekend.

They did not find any other bones at the site off Hamilton Mill Road near Sardis Church Road. To identify the woman, police are looking for the public's help as they search for anyone who may be able to help identify her.
