Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is scheduled to visit the SK Innovation facility project in Jackson County Monday.
The site on Steve Reynolds Industrial Parkway in Commerce is still under construction and was one of the focal points among political leaders during a legal fight between SK Innovation and LG Energy Solutions.
Kemp is planning to tour the facility Monday along with company president and CEO Jun Kim. After that, he plans to give a press conference at 9:00 a.m. to update the project.
SK Innovation and LG Energy Solutions reached an agreement a week ago that will allow the facility to manufacture vehicle batteries. That status was in jeopardy after a federal court ruled that SK Innovation had stolen trade secrets.
