With only a handful of region games on tap and the state playoff set to begin next Wednesday, northeast Georgia area soccer teams will look for this week as a chance to tune up before beginning quests for state titles.
Many regions still have playoff spots up for grabs with scattered key matches throughout the week. Region 8-A Public, Region 7-3A, Region 6-A Private, and Region 8-2A all have area teams still looking to make a late push for playoff spots or seeding.
However, the biggest showdown of the week will be at The Dungeon on Friday as Class 5A No. 3 Johnson plays host to Gainesville in their annual battle.
