Rain washes out racing at Hartwell, Senoia and others

Mother Nature was not overly kind to the racing world over the weekend, as several events saw rain delays, while others were washed out completely around the area.

Georgia’s Hartwell Speedway was among those that lost their fight with the rains, as Saturday night’s planned event was cancelled due to the showers. The track is slated to return to action on Saturday night. Visit Hartwell-Speedway.com for more information.

The 2021 season opener for Georgia’s Senoia Raceway was also a casualty of the rain on Saturday. The speedway, which is operating under new management this ycar, will now look towards Saturday, April 17 to get the racing season underway. For more info, visit SenoiaRaceway1969.com.

The USCS Sprint Car Series was slated to compete at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina on Saturday night, only to see the rains wash out their plans. The series next heads for Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on April 23. Check USCSRacing.com for updates.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series saw their planned $10,053 to win event at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee was postponed due to the forecast of heavy storms for the area. The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series also made the call to cancel their planned event for Saturday at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tennessee due to the rainy forecast.
