Region titles wait for no one, and although it is Spring Break week for most area school systems, some regions could be find its top contenders this week as several key series will get under way on Monday.
In Region 7-3A, the top four teams will once again do battle against each other. Percentage points is all that separates the top three teams with Class 3A No. 2 North Hall (14-4, 8-1 Region 7-3A) opening a three-game series against No. 5 Cherokee Bluff (15-5, 7-2 Region 7-3A) at Cottrell Field. The Trojans sit in first with the Bears in third. And second place West Hall (17-5, 10-2 Region 7-3A) travels to fourth-place White County (14-6, 9-3 Region 7-3A) to start another monster three-game series.
Region 8-4A also has a pair of big series as Jefferson as No. 8 Jefferson (16-6, 10-2 Region 8-4A) opens a three-game series at home against No. 1 North Oconee (18-2, 9-0 Region 8-4A). No. 5 Flowery Branch (14-6, 5-4 Region 8-4A) sits in third place and will travel to East Hall (2-14, 2-6 Region 8-4A) for a doubleheader on Monday.
In Region 8-A Public, No. 7 Commerce (14-6, 9-1 Region 8-A Public) travels to Towns County (14-6, 9-1 Region 8-A Public) with the Tigers looking to hang onto first place.
