Region 3-3A golf: White Co. girls edge North Hall for title; Dawson Co., North Hall boys also advance

DAHLONEGA — The White County girls edged North Hall by two strokes to capture the Area 3-3A golf championship on Monday at Achasta Golf Club.

The Lady Warriors shot a 240 while the Lady Trojans fired a 242 and both outdistanced third place Westminster (281) as all three teams qualified for the Class 3A girls state tournament next month, May 17-18, at Apple Mountain Golf Course in Clarkesville.

In the boys tournament, Westminster ran away with the title shooting a 288 as second place Dawson County shot a 327. The Tigers held off North Hall (329) as all three teams advanced to the boys state championship tournament on May 17-18 at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell.

For the girls, White County’s Catie Craig also took low medalist honors firing a 1-under 72. North Hall Mikayla Dubnik finished third with a 78.

Erin Dorsey of White County and Lyric Sanford of North Hall finished tied for fourth shooting an 80. North Hall’s MaKayla Jones finished 7th with an 84.  White County’s Rylee Adams finished in 8th with an 89.

The Wildcats’ William Love shot a blistering 8-under 64 for low medalist honors. Colin Henderson of North Hall took fourth with a 75. Dawson County’s Andrew Hughes and Jacob Adams of White County finished tied for  fifth carding 77s. North Hall’s  JT Chester and Dawson County’s Alex Hughes  finished tied for seventh 79s.
