Small sinkhole does not impact White County school operations

By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio

CLEVELAND – The discovery Sunday of a sinkhole or washed-out area on the edge of ABC Drive in front of the White County school bus shop did not impact school operation Monday.

It is believed that someone walking the road discovered the sinkhole and called 9-1-1.

Kelly Crane, school maintenance director, brought in equipment to temporarily fix the problem.

A more permanent fix is forthcoming, said Superintendent of Schools Laurie Burkett.

“We have another spot on ABC Drive right as you turn in right toward the beginning of the school so they are going to – when they repave that spot –

they are going to dig out right here at the sinkhole, re-pack it, patch and re-pave it.”

School traffic will still be able to use the road during repairs.
