Several key region matchups will highlight the Georgia High School Association soccer schedule for northeast Georgia teams on Tuesday and Wednesday.
More than a dozen area teams are ranked in the latest eurosportscoreboard.com poll. The Commerce girls are ranked No. 1 in Class A Public while the Flowery Branch boys (Class 4A) and White County girls (Class 3A) are ranked second, respectively. The Buford girls (Class 6A) and Flowery Branch girls (Class 4A) are ranked third in their classifications.
While the Lady Wolves are off Tuesday, both Habersham Central teams will be in action at home against Winder-Barrow in Region 8-6A showdowns.
In Region 8-5A, Jackson County travels to Apalachee while the ninth-ranked Johnson boys play host to Class 4A No. 4 Chestatee in a cross-county battle of ranked teams.
In Region 8-4A, along with Chestatee, four teams make up the top eight in the rankings. The region is off from region play on Tuesday but the No. 2-ranked Flowery Branch girls have an intriguing match with Class 5A No. 9 Loganville at home.
In Region 7-3A, Cherokee Bluff heads to North Hall as the only key region matchup on Tuesday.
