On Saturday, two more northeast Georgia area teams on Saturday joined the five from Friday into the quarterfinals of the Georgia High School Association playoffs.

(Check below for all of the scores from Friday and Saturday's second-round action.)

The Towns County boys led from start-to-finish in knocking Warren County 77-67 in the Class A Public playoffs at home. Meanwhile, the Rabun County boys stunned Region 7-2A champion Model, 53-47, on the road in the Class 2A playoffs.

But the Cherokee Bluff boys saw their season come to end in a 70-44 loss to No. 2 Hart County in Class 3A. The No. 2-ranked Rabun County girls also were knocked out in a 50-41 loss to Columbia in Class 2A.

As for Friday night's action, the Buford girls in Class 6A, the Jefferson girls in Class 4A, and the Lumpkin County girls in Class 3A all took impressive blowout wins at home. The Commerce girls in Class A Public got a big road win.

But it was the Flowery Branch girls that pulled off the biggest win of the night. The Lady Falcons dominated Region 6-4A champion Marist from start-to-finish in avenging three losses to the Lady War Eagles last season while both were members of Region 7-4A.

The Buford boys suffered the toughest loss falling to Chattahoochee in overtime in Class 6A. Also in Class 6A, the Habersham Central girls fell on the road to Kell.

The most disappointing loss had to be the Dawson County boys in Class 3A. The Region 7-3A champions could not find any rhythm in a blowout loss to Salem at home. Also in Class 3A, the White County boys ran into a star-studded Sandy Creek team, which features four Division I players, in a loss on the road.

And the Towns County girls dropped a heartbreaker to Georgia Military College in Milledgeville in Class A Public.

There are some big matchups on tap for Saturday, including a surging Cherokee Bluff boys team traveling to Hartwell to take on No. 2 Hart County in the Class 3A tournament. The No. 2-ranked Rabun County girls also will be in action at Columbia in Class 2A while the No. 4-ranked Towns County boys are at home against Warren County in Class A Public.
