A million dollars worth of drugs were discovered at a home in Braselton early yesterday morning.
Investigators, both local and federal, entered the residence at 1900 Bell Ln. in the Liberty Estates subdivision to execute an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Charles Seang. When they entered the home, they realized no one was inside. According to Major Michael Steffman, they did find drugs and other illegal items in plain view.
Braselton detectives obtained a search warrant and found the following items inside:
- Approximately 100lbs of Marijuana
- Crack Cocaine
- GHB
- THC (Liquid Form)
- Money Counting Machine
- Six Handguns
- Five Semi-Automatic Rifles
- Armor Plates/Bulletproof Vest
- Packaging Materials
- Numerous other drug-related items
The street value of the drugs, according to Steffman, is around a million dollars because the marijuana is of a higher grade.
Steffman said nearby residents reported some foot traffic outside of the home, but nothing suspicious enough to alert authorities.
"The residents that we talked to didn't have a clue that was going on," Steffman said. "A couple of the residents said they smelled the odor of marijuana, but they couldn't tell where it was coming from."
Seang had federal warrants for drug trafficking and weapons charges and police believe other people could have been living at the residence with him.
The investigation is ongoing.
