Hall County School District preps for class of 2021 proms, graduations

The Hall County School System announced Monday that prom and graduation will occur for the class of 2021.

According to a release from the school system, both events will look different, but officials felt it was important to have them.

Prom will have limitations in play, such as outdoor venues being preferred, but the overall tradition will remain. "The district feels it is important that students have an opportunity to contribute to planning and to participate," the release stated.

Principals will work with students and staff on the event to get ideas for a safe and successful prom.

All seven high school graduations will take place on May 14 at 7 p.m. at each school's stadium. Mitigation measures will be in place. Each graduate will be issued a maximum number of tickets, however the maximum number may change depending on pandemic conditions.

In case of bad weather, graduation ceremonies will be moved to Saturday, May 15 at 9 a.m.

More information regarding Hall County Schools proms and graduation ceremonies will be released in the coming weeks.
