GAINESVILLE — Conley Millwood scored 27 points to lead the Lakeview boys past Pinecrest, 58-41, in the first round of the Region 6A Private tournament on Tuesday at home.
The win clinched a Class A Private state playoff berth. The Lions (17-8, Region 6A No. 4 seed) will travel to No. 1 seed Mt. Pisgah on Thursday for a trip to the region title game.
The game was tied after the first period, 13-13, and was back and forth in the second quarter eventually ended with the Lions up, 27-24.
In the second half, Lakeview pushed the lead up to 10 points, 41-31, at the end of the third quarter.
Declan Weidner ended the night with 15 points, while Holden Cooper finished with 9.

The Dragons (17-4 Region 8-4A No. 2 seed) had four players in double digits and held the Falcons to just 10 first-half points to roll in the first round of the Region 8-4A tournament at home on Tuesday.
JT Fulkard led Jefferson with 14 points, while Spencer Darby added 11 and Dalen Gales and Kadin Bailey chipped in 10 each.
Jefferson roared out to a 37-10 half-time lead and a 61-18 advantage after three quarters.
Trevor Gurske led the Falcons (3-17) with 8 points.
With No. 3 seed North Oconee beating East Hall, 79-42, the Dragons will play the Titans in the semifinals on Thursday at Flowery Branch. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
