- The following school and government delays and closures have been announced for Tuesday, Feb. 16 due to the potential for black ice across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.
Schools:
- Commerce City Schools will delay opening until 10 a.m.
- Forsyth County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
- Gainesville City Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
- Georgia Mountains YMCA Learning Center will be delayed until 8:30 a.m. for the Gainesville and North Hall locations.
- Gwinnett County Public Schools will hold a digital learning day.
- Habersham County Schools will operate on a three-hour delay.
- Hall County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
- Lakeview Academy will operate on a two-hour delay.
- Lanier Technical College will delay opening until 10 a.m.
- Lumpkin County Schools will operate on a three-hour delay.
- Maranatha Christian Academy will operate on a two-hour delay.
- North Georgia Technical College will be delayed until 10 a.m. for all campuses.
- Riverside Military Academy will operate on a two-hour delay.
- Towns County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
- University of North Georgia will be delayed until 11 a.m. for all campuses. Staff should report at 10 a.m.
Government:
- District 2 Health Departments, Environmental Health Offices, Children with Special Needs, and District Office will observe a 2-hour delayed opening.
- Forsyth County government offices will operate on a two-hour delay.
- City of Gainesville will operate on a two-hour delay. All administrative offices and facilities will open at 10 a.m.
- State of Georgia Offices will operate on a two-hour delay for all offices. Governor Brian Kemp made the announcement Monday afternoon.
- Hall County Government facilities to open at 10 a.m.
Business:
- Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA) and Kubota Industrial Equipment (KIE) will stop operations at 4:00 a.m on Feb 16; and dayshift team members should report at 9:00 a.m.
