New name to be announced for Gwinnett's Infinite Energy Center

Gwinnett Infinite Energy Center in Duluth will be getting a new name. Although that name has not been announced yet, it is expected to come in June. The change comes after the Florida-based company, Infinite Energy, was purchased by Gas South last October.

According to the AJC, the original agreement with Infinite Energy in 2016 included a clause saying the name could only change once during an agreed-upon 20 years. That is the time span given to Infinite Energy to complete their payments totaling $18 million to name the complex.

Even after the name is announced, it will take some time for all signs to be changed.

The AJC says that the new name will have some stipulations. It can’t offend the public at large, it can’t imply an affiliation with an area outside of Gwinnett County and it has to be related to the Gas South brand.
