Some northeast Georgia area regions will conclude their regular seasons this weekend while others will trudge along into next week as the Georgia High School Association basketball season steams toward all-important region tournaments.
The Elbert County girls and Rabun County girls have clinched the top two seeds. The Banks County boys clinched the top seed. Rabun County and Union County close out the season on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Regions 6-7A, 8-6A, 8-4A, 8-3A, 8-A Public, and 6-A Private all have games scheduled next week to conclude their regular seasons. Several area teams in those are just one win from clinching region titles and/or state playoff berths. But we'll have to wait until next week to see the full picture.
