Some Gwinnett residents experiencing delays in trash, recycling service

By AccessWDUN staff

Staffing shortages brought on by COVID-19 are causing problems with some of Gwinnett County's trash and recycling pickup.

County officials issued a statement this week saying Republic Services and Waste Management/Advanced Disposal customers in unincorporated Gwinnett County will be impacted for the foreseeable future.

Both Republic Services and Waste Management/Advanced Disposal use a technology-based system to notify residents of delays via text or phone, but customers must sign up for the notifications. Republic can be contacted at 678-963-2800 or Waste Management can be reached at 678-684-493.

Both the county and the hauling companies have apologized for the problem.
