For the first time since 2018, the East Hall boys are in the finals.
The Vikings beat Cherokee Bluff in the semifinals, 68-58, to advance to the championship game against Gainesville. The Red Elephants defeated Lakeview Academy, 60-42, in the other semifinal game on Wednesday at Gainesville.
The two old foes own 47 of the 62 tournament trophies -- East Hall 24, Gainesville 23. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. at North Hall on Thursday.
On the girls side, North Hall rallied past Gainesville, 51-44, to advance to the finals. Meanwhile, Lakeview Academy continued to turn heads in the tournament as they jumped out to a 22-5 lead on Flowery Branch en route to 50-36 win and a place in the finals. North Hall and Lakeview will tip-off at 6 p.m. on Thursday at North Hall.
