Boys basketball: Fulkrod leads Jefferson past Flowery Branch; NHall beats Lumpkin; Johnson falls

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — JT Fulkrod scored 21 points to lead Jefferson to a 66-51 win over Flowery Branch on the road Friday. 

Dalen Gales added 15, while Kadin Baily scored 14 points. 

The Dragons (9-1, 3-0 Region 8-4A) jumped out to a 32-22 lead at halftime and extended the lead 49-33 at the end of the third period.

The Falcons (7-4, 1-3 Region 8-4A) were led by Tyleek Worth with 21 points. Fe'uan Honors and Trey Shaw added six points each.

The Knights' struggles in the first and fourth quarters led to the loss on the road Friday against Apalachee.

Johnson (0-8, 0-3 Region 8-5A) was outpaced 12-6 in the first quarter and 18-8 in the final period to fall in the region battle.

Jaiden Riley led the Knights with 12 points, while Shermarran Clark was the top scorer for the Wildcats.

LUMPKIN COUNTY 34

The Trojans' defense was stingy and the offense was on fire in the blowout win against Lumpkin County (3-7, 1-3 Region 7-3A) at home on Friday. 

North Hall (8-2, 3-1 Region 7-3A) jumped out to a 25-8 first-quarter lead and extended it to a 25-point lead by halftime, 45-20. The Trojans hammered down in the third quarter to take a 70-28 advantage. 

Edward Doig hit a game-high 23 points. Robert Terry had 19 points, and Matthew Ray added 11. 

Jones Harris led the Indians with 15 points.
