Basketball: East Hall boys rally to beat Chestatee; Chestatee girls get past EHall

GAINESVILLE — Christian Torres scored 18 points and Clete Cooper had 16 to lead the East Hall boys past Chestateed, 60-55, on the road Friday. 

The Vikings (9-2, 1-1 Region 8-4A) rallied from a 12-point third-quarter deficit to beat the War Eagles (5-4, 0-2 Region 8-4A). Cooper scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to lead the fourth quarter come-from-behind win. East Hall found themselves down 46-34 at the end of the third period and outscored Chestatee 26-9 in the final frame. 

Levi Holtclaw chipped in five of his 10 points in the fourth quarter, while CJ Agborsangaya added eight points. 

Colton Wilbanks led the War Eagles with 22 points, while Hugh Pruitt added 13, and Cade Williams posted 10 points.

The Lady War Eagles got their first Region 8-4A win of the season behind.23 points and 8 rebounds from Riley Black.

It also was the second consecutive win for Chestatee (6-1, 1-1 Region 8-4A).

Chestatee led just 11-10 after the first quarter but used a 17-7 second quarter to build a 28-17 halftime lead. The Lady War Eagles took a 40-30 advantage into the fourth.

For East Hall (6-4, 1-2 Region 8-4A) the loss snapped a two-game win streak.

Riley Allison had 9 points and Bowen Corley had 7 points and 8 rebounds for Chestatee.

Alexis Burce paced East Hall Hall with 20 points. Audrey Griffin had 10 for the Lady Vikings.
